My dear Tulonga,
I can still remember the first time I felt you move your little foot inside my stomach. I might not remember the day, the date or the time, but I do remember how I felt. It was the most amazing feeling.
No, it was beyond amazing it was one of those great feelings you can’t put in words. I was very happy and excited. I remember standing there with a big grin on my face, waiting for you to do it again.
I was so grateful for the gift of life, the connection. Even before you were born, you found a way to connect with me. A playful one, we developed our game, you would bring your foot up, and move it away so fast soon as I tickled it. You would always attempt to bring it back up but the minute I raised my arm you would quickly move it away. I would laugh and I would imagine you laughing too. That was our special game before you were born.
I looked forward to seeing your little face, to playing with you. I couldn’t wait to teach you more fun games. Autism threatened to take that away from us, and succeeded for a little while. But we found a way to play again because our bond is stronger than auism. I’m so thankful to The Son-Rise Program® for teaching me how to join you in your own world, and connecting with you again.
I love you more than anything in this world and I’ll never ever give up on you Tulonga!
Thank you for choosing me to be your mother! I look forward to the rest of our journey together!
Love mommy
